To me podcasts are the best thing to happen to this era. Here is a short smattering of ones I enjoy(ed). I also love anything Brene Brown and Liz Gilbert. PLEASE send your recs.
Dolly Parton’s America : Dolly is my everything. This is such a good listen for going on a trip, being in the car etc… It’s the story of Dolly Parton, but there’s so much historical context of music, women and early America. I recommend this to any and every human that especially loves musical history.
We Can Do Hard Things : This is my daily bread. The only Podcast I ever wake up the day a new episode comes out and plan the special time to listen. I listen to the trio whenever I feel like I need to be understood or seen. They have been a lifeline at times.
Oprah & Eckhart Tolle: A New Earth : I haven’t listened since it first came out, but the New Earth series which is the first 10 of his podcast (and the only I’ve listened to of his) shifted my life entirely in a very specific season when I needed it. His understanding of simplicity and presence are a must to live a full life. It’s a little heady so I have to be in a certain frame of mind to listen. But the info is so good.
Super Soul Sunday : I peruse when I need a good little inner church service.
A Beautiful Mess : As an early blogger in my 20’s I’ve been aware of Elsie & Emma for a long time. This podcast is more like having someone keep you company when you’re doing other things, or just need to feel the warmth of two sisters talking about random light things.
Second Life : You have to find the right one that speaks to you, but I have gotten SO much from some of these stories as a Business Owner & Creative Hustler. I love the premise that at any point in life, we can have a “second… or third… or fourth” life and completely change everything. This focuses mostly on women and their multiple careers. I particularly love the Hedley & Bennet episode. I think it’s so encouraging to hear about someone with an idea, that just makes things happen.
As always… send your recs to add or your own named list.
