The thing is… I love to read. I LOVE to get lost in a book and devour. However, for some reason, it takes SO MUCH for me to get into a book to the point I stop all things and binge-read until it’s done (there is no other way). If it sits too long in-between chapters, It’ll end up in a travel bag escorting me around the world, to every sandy beach and park bench, to sit on my lap while I play on my phone instead of reading.
So this list is so very small. This list is more of a cry for help than a list. This cry for help is hoping someone on the internet will review this – oh so tiny list, and figure me out and recommend the right books for me to dive into. I am also a firm believer that reading a book with your eyes and listening with your ears are two very different experiences that have very different values. Basically I’m desperate for both recommendations. I need help internet. I want an app for books like Tinder, I want to Swipe Right so hard and date all the reads. So please give me your best Lavar Burton down below and help me and those that are like me find enjoyable things to read that are easy to get into, or with the disclaimers… “just get to chapter 2, and you’ll be hooked” – so that I don’t give up early.
Until my rescue arrives, here’s my meager list of recent reads that I enjoyed. And by recent, I mean… all the books I can remember reading cover to cover in the last … decade. THIS IS MY SAFE SPACE.

Yes, you do see The Hunger Games Trilogy, because it’s the last time I remember reading deep into the night and jonesing for the next book so hard that I drove an hour to a nearby book store at Christmas to get it. And yes, that was almost a decade ago. I told you this is a cry for help.
To be clear, I have a ton of books stacked around my house that I dabble in. A ton of self-help-y, psych, business, creative, cooking, story books… that I savor and read over the stretch of my lifetime. I enjoy Alain De Botton, I also listen to books and mysteries, not listed.
So please help me find the right next thing.
