From a creative standpoint, I love the composition of these covers, and the mix of pattern and color. – Ok, I know that celebrities are kind of boring to write about. But I have to say something about Billie Eilish. As a mom to a daughter, I so appreciate what Billie represents. I know it’s no one’s job to be an influence, but I love that she is so uniquely herself, and made choices to create a new expression of the teenage experience that encompasses body safety, individuality and a genuine love for her family that hasn’t changed with money and fame. I find her and her brother to be insanely creative and talented. They represent what a lot of creative 80’s kids experienced – making things in their bedrooms late at night, and somehow they’ve seemed to maintain that feeling of kids making cool things even as they age.
Enjoy this video from the Grammys, it represents my inner angsty teen in the best way.
